Molecular Modeling and Pattern Recognition for Computational Analysis and Support of Screening Experiments Aiming at the Development of Anti-TSE pharmaceuticals
(Data based Modelling and Neuroinformatics)

Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSE), including Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) in human, Scrapie in sheep and Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) in cattle, are invariably fatal neurodegenerative diseases. This project is part of an interdisciplinary research project for the systematic development of anti-TSE pharmaceuticals. Using methods of pattern recognition and molecular modelling we support the experimental approaches of our partners.

This project is funded by the Bundesminissterium für Bildung und Forschung and is part of the jointproject Systematic Development of New Compounds for the Causal Therapy of Prion Diseases.
